Taxis and ride-hailing

Taxi fares here are set freely, with no legal ceiling. Your guide is the yellow comparison-price sticker on every cab; for certainty, ask for a fixed price before the car moves. Uber and Bolt are ordinary licensed taxis.

    Check the yellow comparison-price sticker before you get in - prices vary a lot by firm and there is no legal ceiling.

    Ask for a fixed price before you start
    Want a fixed price instead of the meter? Say so before the car sets off - app bookings quote a fixed price up front.

    At the airport, use the signposted rank
    Never follow a driver who offers you a ride in the arrivals hall - walk out to the rank and follow the "Godkänd taxi" signs.

    With an app, check the meeting point
    Head to the meeting point the app shows. At Arlanda, Uber picks you up at the Ground Transportation exit, not inside arrivals.

    Pay and take the meter receipt
    Street taxis take cards and cash. Make sure you get the taximeter receipt when you get out.

Heads-up

  • Drivers touting inside arrivals have no airport contract

    Never go with a driver who offers you a ride inside the arrivals hall at Arlanda. These operators have no airport contract, and the authorities report them using invented excuses such as "the trains are not running". Walk out to the rank and take a car marked "Godkänd taxi" (approved taxi).

  • The comparison price is not a cap on the fare

    The comparison price on the yellow sticker is not a cap on what you will pay - it is only what a standard 10 km, 15-minute trip costs. From 2025 complaints, the Swedish Consumer Agency estimates taxi customers paid on average about 1,410 kronor more than they expected. If you want a firm number, ask for a fixed price before you set off.
