No gates - spot checks instead, and no ticket costs 1,200 kroner. A Reisekort only counts once tapped on the reader inside the tram; skip that and you are ticketless. The same ticket covers buses, metro and boats.

Line 13 runs as a bus between Thune and Lilleaker
Overhead line renewal means buses replace the tram between Thune and Lilleaker on line 13 until January 2027. The buses take longer than the tram and temporary stops are not always where you expect, so allow extra time if your day runs through this stretch.
How to ride
- 1Get your ticket before you boardInstall the Ruter app, or buy a physical Reisekort card at a kiosk or metro station counter. Trams sell nothing on board.
- 2Buy the ticket in the appBuying in the app starts the countdown, and you may board from that moment.
- 3Tap a Reisekort on the reader inside the tramOnce aboard, hold the card against the reader to activate it - without that tap the ticket does not count.
- 4Keep the ticket on you until you get offThere are no gates, only spot checks - if you cannot show a ticket you are fined, on the spot or by invoice.
- 5Transfer on the same ticketThe same ticket covers buses, the metro, the boats and local Vy trains; once it expires, buy a new one before changing.
