Vy local and regional trains (L and R lines)

Inside Oslo and Akershus a Ruter ticket is also your train ticket - the same one as the metro and buses. It can't be bought on board, so have it activated before boarding. Beyond the zones you need a separate Vy ticket.

How to ride

    Buy your ticket before you board
    Buy in the Ruter app, or get a Reisekort travel card at a Narvesen, 7-Eleven or Mix kiosk. Ruter tickets are not sold on board.

    Let the journey planner pick your zones
    Enter where you are going and the planner works out the zones for you. Anywhere inside central Oslo is zone 1.

    Activate it before boarding
    Activate an app ticket before boarding. With a Reisekort, hold it to a Ruter card reader at the station first.

    Be ready for the inspector
    Checks happen on board, so keep your ticket ready to show right up to the moment you step off.

    Going beyond the zones? Switch to a Vy ticket
    A Ruter ticket stops at the Oslo and Akershus boundary - buy a separate Vy ticket in the Vy app.
