Naples

A great port city beneath Mount Vesuvius. Even the metro - and its tickets - splits by company here.

Bay of Naples boats (aliscafo and traghetto)

Boarding starts at the port ticket desk: with Caremar and SNAV you collect a boarding card there before departure, even on a ticket bought online. City transport tickets and the Artecard are not valid at sea.

How to ride

  1. 1
Check which port you sail from
Naples has two passenger ports, Molo Beverello and Calata Porta di Massa. Go to the one printed on your ticket.
  2. 2
Buy the ticket at the port desk or online
Alilauro desks sell until 30 minutes before departure and take cash or cards; other lines publish no deadline, so allow time.
  3. 3
Add a baggage ticket for a big bag
One free piece per passenger, and on the fast craft it has to be small - buy the extra baggage ticket before you board.
  4. 4
Collect the boarding card at the desk
Caremar and SNAV require this even for an online ticket - swap it at a desk or totem. SNAV's cut-off is 30 minutes before sailing.
  5. 5
Show ticket and ID at the gate
Show the paper or QR ticket with your ID. Once aboard you cannot go back ashore.
