Heads-up

The new BRT is a separate service, so boarding may differ
These steps describe the regular bus network. On 28 February 2026 STCP also began running a BRT between Casa da Musica and Praca do Imperio. It is a new, separate service, so do not assume that boarding and validation work the way they do on the ordinary lines - follow the signs there.

At night a different network radiates from Aliados
Between 00:30 and 06:00 the daytime lines give way to the night network, a star of routes radiating from Aliados that are completely different from the daytime ones. It runs to the same timetable every day of the year.

Bikes and scooters only travel folded, as hand luggage
Bicycles and scooters cannot be carried onto the bus unless they are folded and handled as hand luggage - bikes only up to 55 x 40 x 20 cm. They may not be left in the aisle or on the platform.
-
Line 500 double-deckers: no card payment on board
Line 500 is part of the tap-to-ride pilot, but on-board card payment was suspended on its double-deckers and no notice has announced its return. Always have an Andante ticket or buy one from the driver.

Pay the fine voluntarily in time for half the minimum
If an inspector fines you, paying voluntarily on the spot or at a Loja Andante within 15 working days settles it at half the minimum. Filing a written appeal does not stop that clock.
