How to ride

   Install the RideMovi app and sign up

   The app is the only way to rent - register with your phone number, then add a payment card.

   Find a bike on the map and scan its QR code

   Find a bike or e-bike nearby on the map, then scan the QR code on the frame to unlock it.

   Read the price the app shows before unlocking

   No visitor rate is published anywhere official, so the figure in the app is the only one.

   Ride on the road, not the pavement

   Use the cycle lanes where they exist, keep off the pavement, and always give way to pedestrians.

   Check the map before you park

   No-parking areas and the operating area are drawn on the map; ending a ride outside them costs extra.

   End the ride with a photo

   Upload a photo of the parked bike to end the ride - the AI checks how it is placed on the spot.

   Reposition it if the app asks

   If the check fails you are asked to move the bike before the ride closes; doing so avoids the charge.

Heads-up

• The AI checks your parking photo on the spot

  Since 3 August 2026 the charge for leaving a bike where parking is banned has risen from 3 to 5 euro, and the way it is caught has changed with it: Capture AI now analyses every photo uploaded at the end of a ride in real time, and if the bike is badly placed it asks you to reposition it before the ride closes. Checks used to be after the fact and on a sample, so placements that once slipped through are now stopped on the spot. Read the other way round, this means that if you move the bike as asked and then end the ride, nothing is charged. The expensive habit is uploading the photo and walking away. Charges are taken from the card registered in the app.

• Extra charges for parking outside the area or a bad photo

  What you are charged is not only the time you rode. The operator's terms provide for extra costs if you leave the vehicle outside the operating area, if you end a ride inside a no-parking area drawn on the map, or if you fail to upload a clear photo of the parked bike. If the operator is fined for a road-code offence you committed, the fine and the removal and storage costs are passed on to you with an admin fee on top - and the two official pages disagree about that fee, the terms saying 20 euro and the FAQ cost table 30 euro. Damage to a vehicle can be recovered up to 1,500 euro. The FAQ gives general ceilings but states that the amounts differ from city to city, and no Florence figure is published, so check the operating area on the map before you set off.

• Under-18s cannot rent in their own name

  Under-18s cannot rent in their own name. The operator's terms require the user to be at least 18 to register an account or use the service, and allow 16- and 17-year-olds only where a parent or guardian has completed a documented procedure with the company (there are city-by-city exceptions, such as 14 in Cesena). Whether you can take out bikes for the rest of your party is less clear: the FAQ says one account moves one vehicle at a time, while the terms describe a Group Ride function that unlocks several vehicles on one account and is offered only in cities where the button appears in the app. Nothing official says whether Florence is one of them, so check in the app. Guests on a Group Ride still have to meet the age requirement.
