Green city buses (stadsbuss, Skånetrafiken)

Tap a bank card on the reader inside a green city bus: 32 kronor for an adult hour, capped at two singles per 24 hours in the same city zone. Only green buses take a tap - trains and yellow regional buses do not.

How to ride

    Have a ticket ready before you board
    The driver sells nothing. If you have no card to tap, buy first in the app, at a station machine or at a kiosk.

    Tap the reader on board
    On a green city bus go straight to a reader; the tap itself buys an adult hour. App tickets are scanned at the same reader.
  3. 3
    Change buses on the same card
    Tap on every boarding; nothing extra is charged inside the hour. A second tap after the hour turns it into a 24-hour ticket.

    Show the card you paid with
    Hold the card or phone you paid with against the inspector's handheld. The ticket is only valid on the card that bought it.

Heads-up

  • Arriving by train? Do not tap on the city bus

    An Öresundståg ticket also covers the city buses inside the zone you depart from and the zone you arrive in, from an hour before departure to an hour after arrival - so tapping a card after stepping off the train pays 32 kronor twice. The reverse case: a ticket bought into the city does not always cover every stop in it, and then you buy a stadszonstillägg on top.

  • Your own e-scooter cannot come on the bus

    Segways and e-scooters are not allowed on buses. Only a folding one, folded as far as it goes, counts as hand luggage and rides under the seat. On the trains - Öresundståg, Pågatåg and Krösatåg - you may bring one per person if there is room. Bicycles cannot go on a city bus either.

  • Rented scooters go in the marked racks

    In the city centre a rented e-scooter may only be parked in the marked scooter racks. Malmö permits four operators - Bolt, Lime, Ryde and Voi - with a ceiling of 2,800 scooters. On-street offences are fined by the police, not the operator.
