Taipei

Taiwan's basin capital, glowing with night markets. The MRT reaches the Beitou hot springs and the zoo alike.

How to ride

  1. 1
    Flag the bus down
Buses often won't stop unless you signal - raise your hand clearly when yours approaches.
  2. 2
    Tap when you board
Tap your EasyCard on the reader by the door. Paying cash? Drop exactly NT$15 in the farebox - no change given.
  3. 3
    Ring for your stop
Watch the display or follow along on Google Maps, and press the bell before your stop.
  4. 4
Tap again when you get off
Tapping off is the rule now. Skip it and you lose transfer discounts - and may see a catch-up charge next ride.
