How to ride
- 1Buy a ticket that covers the airport zoneBuy at a station machine, a counter or in an app. Zones 100/101 stop short - the ticket has to include 115.
- 2Board an S-Bahn to BelpThe S3, S4, S31 and S44 call at Belp. Stamp an undated paper ticket before boarding.
- 3Change to bus 160 at Belp stationBoard BERNMOBIL's line 160; the destination sign reads Bern Flughafen.
- 4Keep the ticket until you get offThere are no gates, only inspections. The one ticket stays valid across the change of vehicle.

Lifts (step-free)（Limited）BERNMOBIL buses that carry a ramp are marked with a wheelchair pictogram on the side. The wheelchair space faces the boarding door and has its own stop button and a padded backrest. Passengers with a rollator can ask the driver for help boarding, but the ramp is not available to them for safety reasons, so you need to manage steps and gaps yourself.

Operating hoursBus 160 leaves Belp station between 05:59 and 22:29 and the airport between 05:49 and 22:47 on weekdays under the 2026 timetable; departures from Rubigen station run hourly and stop at 19:33 on weekdays. BERNMOBIL publishes a PDF board for every stop and direction on the line's own page, which is where these times come from. Everything changes at the timetable change on 13 December 2026.

The Bern-Ticket only covers the airport stretch on your day of arrival and day of departure. Any other trip out there needs a ticket that reaches the third zone.

A Libero ticket will not bring you in from Zurich Airport
A Libero ticket will not get you in from Zurich Airport; buy a national point-to-point ticket or a pass through to Bern.

A partly valid ticket costs less than none at all
Travelling with no ticket at all means a CHF 100 surcharge for a first offence; if you can show a ticket that is valid for at least part of the route - a city ticket, say - it falls to CHF 75. The amount rises with the number of cases in the past two years, and no distinction is made between forgetting and dodging.

Bus 160 also stops at Rubigen, but only once an hour
Bus 160 also calls at Rubigen station, where the S1 stops, but only once an hour: the last weekday departure for the airport is 19:33, and on Sundays the first is 07:33. Belp is the connection to rely on.

Three rides not covered by a single ticket in your zones
Three rides are not covered by a single ticket even inside the zones you bought: the Gurtenbahn, the Marzilibahn and the Matte-Plattform-Lift.

A city ticket can be topped up for the missing zones
If you already hold a ticket or a season pass for the city zones, you can buy an Anschlussbillett for the missing zones instead of a fresh three-zone ticket. Whether the Bern-Ticket counts as such a base is not stated officially.
