Switzerland
Bern
The Swiss capital, cradled in a bend of the Aare. Trams, buses and S-Bahn all share one zone-ticket system.
One Libero zone ticket does it all: buy before boarding, from the SBB Mobile app or a machine at the stop or station. No gates; the same ticket covers tram, bus and S-Bahn — every city station is in zone 100/101 — but hold it before departure. Stop machines take no banknotes: coins or cards. Within Libero, the Marzili funicular and Matte lift take day passes and up; the Gurten funicular, season tickets only. The airport stop Belp is in zone 115, past a city ticket. Taxis have no fare cap: read the tariff card on the car before getting in.
