City and regional buses (UL)

Almost every bus in Uppsala is run by UL, and one flat fare covers 75 minutes however far you ride. You can buy from the driver, but never with cash - and there is no tapping a bank card to ride.

How to ride

    Signal the driver with your hand
    Waiting at the stop is not always enough. Step to the kerb and signal with a hand or your phone that you want this bus.

    Pay at the front when you board
    No ticket? Buy one from the driver with Visa or Mastercard - cash is never taken. App tickets and UL cards go to the reader.
  3. 3
    Change buses on the same ticket
    A 75-minute ticket carries as many rides as fit inside it. Tap or show it again by the driver on the next bus.
  4. 4
    Show your ticket to inspectors
    Checks happen on board and also as people get on and off, so keep your ticket to hand until you are off the bus.

Heads-up

  • Buses 801 and 880 need their own ticket at Arlanda

    On the 801 and 880 the ordinary 75-minute ticket fails only where you board or alight at a stop inside the Arlanda area. There you need the dedicated Arlanda bus single, or a UL period ticket valid for 24 hours or more. Ride the same buses between stops outside that area and a normal ticket is fine.   • Only a folding e-scooter may come on board

    Your own e-scooter may come on both city and regional buses if it folds - up to 120 cm folded and 15 kg. Non-folding scooters, Segways, mopeds and motorcycles are not allowed on board at all.

  • Plain-clothes inspectors from October 2026

    From 1 October 2026, plain-clothes inspectors will work alongside the uniformed ones. A plain-clothes check only starts once the doors have closed and the bus is moving, and the inspector always shows a badge when it does. You may ask to see it, uniformed or not.
