Tap a bank card on board and you pay the dearest fare - 2.30 euros, good for that one vehicle only. Preload a 1.90 single instead and you get 60 minutes across buses and the metro. Cash to the driver still works.

How to ride

    Buy your ticket before you board
    At a Metro ticket machine or a CARRIS shop, load a single or 24-hour ticket onto a navegante ocasional card.
  2. 2
    Tap the validator as you board
    Hold your card to the validator on board; a green light means it is valid. Every ride needs one, even on a 24-hour ticket.
  3. 3
    No ticket? Buy one on board
    Pay the driver in cash, or hold a bank card or the MB WAY app to the validator.
  4. 4
    Pay for your whole group at once
    On city CARRIS, press the multi-passenger button, pick the group size, then tap - one card covers up to 10 people.
  5. 5
    Show inspectors what you actually paid with
    Show inspectors the ticket, card or phone you actually used - with a bank card, the card itself is your ticket.
