RER / Transilien

One flat €2.55 covers the RER and Transilien - Versailles and Disneyland included. The exception is the airports (CDG needs the €14 ticket). No card tap at the gates yet - load a Navigo Easy card or your phone first.

How to ride

    Get your ticket on your phone or a Navigo Easy card
    Buy in the app and ride with your phone, or load a Navigo Easy card (€2) from a counter or machine. Paper tickets are gone.

    Going to the airport? That's a separate €14 ticket
    For airport trips buy the €14 airport ticket - the regular €2.55 one is not valid at airport stations.

    Tap in, then check the departure board
    Tap in at the gates, then check the departure board - your station must be lit on the stop list.
  4. 4
    Open the doors yourself
    Press the button (or lift the handle) to open the doors when boarding and alighting - most do not open themselves.
  5. 5
    Tap out to exit
    Tap out at the exit gates with the same card or phone you entered with.

Heads-up

  • Same platform, different branches - check the stop list

    RER lines branch - trains on the same platform go different ways (northbound RER B mixes CDG Airport and Mitry-Claye trains, for instance). Board without checking the stop list and you may end up on the wrong branch.

  • Weekend and summer works and strikes cut service

    Weekend and summer engineering closures are common, and strikes slash service - check the line status before you travel.

  • Pickpockets target airport RER B and big hubs

    Pickpockets work the airport RER B and big hubs like Gare du Nord and Châtelet. Keep phones and bags in front of you.
