Paris
The art capital along the Seine. With 300-odd stations, a métro stop is rarely more than a short walk away.
Métro (Métro de Paris)
A city where paper tickets are no longer sold. You carry fares on a €2 Navigo Easy card or your phone - and there is still no tapping your bank card at the metro gate.

- 2Choose your ticketLoad a single ticket, the Navigo Jour day pass, or - for a Monday-Sunday week - the airport-inclusive Navigo Semaine.
- 3Tap in at the gatesTap your card or phone on the purple reader and walk through. Use the wide gate if you have luggage.
- 4Transfer on the same ticketStay inside the gates and one ticket covers metro-RER transfers for 2 hours. On older trains, open doors with the button or latch.
- 5Walk out without tappingNo tap-out on the metro (the RER needs it). Inspections happen - keep the card or phone holding your ticket until you're outside.
