Taxis & VTC (ride-hailing)
Airport taxis run on flat rates with no traffic or luggage extras - your baseline against rip-offs. Touts in arrivals are all illegal; real taxis mean the rank or an app. No taxi may refuse a card payment, however small.

How to ride
- 1Line up your appsUber and Bolt work as-is with your home account and card. For taxis get G7 or FreeNow; Heetch suits cash payers.
- 2At the airport, walk past the toutsFollow the 'Taxis' signs to the outdoor rank (staff run the queue) and name your destination. VTC: wait at the app's pickup point.
- 3Taxi or VTC? Play to their strengthsThe roof light is green when free, red when taken (that's law). Only taxis may use bus lanes - quicker than VTC in jams.
- 4PayingPay by card with confidence - taxis cannot refuse one whatever the fare (a terminal is mandatory), so don't accept "it's broken".
- 5Booked taxis add an approach feeOrdering by app or phone adds an approach fee; board at the rank or hail on the street and you skip it.

Taxis offered inside arrivals are illegal cabs
Anyone offering a taxi inside the arrivals hall or station is an illegal cab - the airport itself says so. Real taxis are at the outdoor rank or booked through an app.

Airport taxis are flat-rate - refuse a metered fare
On airport runs, refuse any taxi charge above the legal flat rate (€36-65). If the driver starts the meter, insist on the flat fare. The only legitimate add-ons are the approach fee if you ordered the cab yourself (€4 / €7) and €5.50 per passenger from the fifth.
