How to ride
- 1Go down to the station under the terminalThe station is directly beneath the terminal, with lifts and escalators leading down to it from the arrivals hall.
- 2Buy an ABC ticketThe airport is in zone C and the centre in zone A, so buy an ABC ticket - in the HSL app or at the machine on the platform.
- 3Take the P train from platform 1From the airport the P train on platform 1 is quickest; board an I train only if it is signed for Helsinki.
- 4Keep your ticket to the endThere are no gates, so walk straight to the platform; show the ticket only when an inspector or conductor asks.
- 5After the last train, take bus 600Through the night bus 600 leaves for Central Station about every 30 minutes, from the stops in front of the arrivals level.
- 6Pick a taxi from the four lanes in arrivalsThe rank has one lane per company with prices posted, so you choose; app-booked cars wait in the P2 parking hall.

Lifts (step-free)（Limited）The station sits directly under the terminal, with lifts and escalators down from both the arrivals and the departures hall. Every commuter train in the HSL area is low-floor, and pressing the button by the wheelchair-marked door slides out a step to bridge the platform gap. Every HSL bus is low-floor too, with kneeling and a manual ramp at the middle doors, and line 600 is an HSL trunk bus. We could find no official statement about booking a wheelchair-accessible taxi.

Operating hoursCounted from HSL's own GTFS feed (version 2026-08-01, covering 31 July to 28 September 2026), looking only at departures from the airport station that actually run through to Central Station. On an autumn-timetable weekday (from 10 August 2026) the P line runs from 04:52 to 01:22 the next morning every 10 minutes through the day, with city-bound I trains every 20. On a summer-timetable weekday (to 9 August 2026) only the P line runs through, every 20 minutes, first at 04:57 and last at 01:21; I trains terminate at Myyrmäki and never reach Central Station. Nothing runs between roughly 01:20 and 04:50. City-bound trunk bus 600 leaves the airport from 04:22 until 03:54 the next morning on weekdays - effectively around the clock - every 10-11 minutes by day and roughly every 30 minutes overnight, but the first weekend run is only around 05:00, and midday gaps are about 10 minutes on Saturday and 15 on Sunday. All figures were tallied from the feed and re-derived independently during the adversarial fact-check on 2 August 2026.

Onboard readers lose contactless if the connection drops
The onboard card readers lose contactless payment when their data connection drops. Boarding at the airport without managing to buy a ticket still counts as fare evasion, so having an app ticket or a paper ticket from the machine first is the safe move.
