Croatia's only full tram network runs through the city. Buy before you board and stamp a paper ticket once, at the machine by the front door. Only the buses make you think about zones.

How to ride
- 1Come out of arrivals and find the bus stopsThe Pleso shuttle leaves from right in front of the terminal by arrivals, and ZET bus 290 calls at the airport in both directions.
- 2Pick your bus by where you are goingThe Pleso shuttle runs non-stop to the central bus station; ZET bus 290 serves eastern Zagreb and Velika Gorica instead.
- 3For ZET, cover two zones before you boardThe airport is past the zone-one boundary at Petruševec. Buy the two-zone 180-minute ticket, or pick two zones on the reader.
- 4Stamp a paper ticket the moment you boardUse the machine near the first door, once and once only. Tickets sold by the driver need no stamp but cover a single zone.
- 5Buy the Pleso ticket online firstBuying on the operator's own site sends you a PDF with a QR code; print it and show it to the crew as you board.
- 6Take a taxi from the rank beside arrivalsThe rank for Taxi Gorica, the airport's contracted operator, is on the ground floor by arrivals. Check the capped fare first.

Operating hoursThe Pleso shuttle leaves the central bus station between 04:00 and 21:00 and the airport between 06:00 and 22:30, roughly every 30 minutes. After 22:30 it abandons the timetable and follows Croatia Airlines landings until 01:00, departing about 30 to 40 minutes after touchdown. A Rijeka service (to Žabica) leaves the same stand daily at 15:30. ZET bus 290 is a separate service and keeps running at 35-minute intervals until around midnight.

Tap without picking zones and one zone goes unticketed
Hold a ZET stored-value card against the reader without choosing anything first and it deducts one 90-minute fare for a single zone. An airport trip crosses two zones, so pick the number of zones on the screen before you tap - forget, and you are riding unticketed through one of them.

Payment methods differ from taxi to taxi
Ask the driver how you can pay before you get in. The airport lists card and wallet options for its taxi operators, but adds that not every vehicle takes all of them and asks passengers to check on the spot before accepting the ride.
