The Gaomei shared taxi runs on a two-year term
The shared taxi between THSR Taichung and the Gaomei Wetlands runs under a city notice that fixes its term at two years from the day service opened, which was 9 October 2024 - so it expires in early October 2026. No extension has been announced, so call 55688 and secure a booking before you build a day around it.
How to ride

Heads-up
-
An app quote is a multiple of the city meter rate
An operator sets the price of a multi-purpose taxi itself, within the approved band, then files it with the city and publishes it. Taichung's notice gives a figure for each fleet and each category - some fixed at 1.0x the city meter rate, others floating between 1.0x and 2.0x with the total shown in the app before you ride. A quote above the meter is still inside the rules.

An expressway toll needs your agreement first
National rules let a driver charge you the expressway toll only if you agreed to use the expressway during a tolled period. Settle whether to take it when you give the destination, which is where it matters for airport and out-of-town trips.

Complaints split between the fleet and the city
The city's list of multi-purpose taxi operators prints a complaints number for each fleet. If you are unsure where a complaint belongs, the transport bureau's own taxi-driver complaints line (04-22289111 ext. 60316) takes it. Note the plate and the time before you call.
