Barcelona
A Mediterranean city dotted with Gaudí's architecture. Beneath the grid of the Eixample, the metro runs everywhere.
TRAM Barcelona (Trambaix / Trambesòs)
No gates here: buy at the stop machine (nothing is sold on board) and validate inside the tram the moment you board - unvalidated means a 100-euro minimum. Singles from metro or TMB bus machines do not work on the tram.
Updated on August 5, 2026
- Until Sep 13, 2026
Sections of T4, T5 and T6 closed, with replacement buses
Track-doubling works on Gran Via have cut the Trambesòs network. Until 13 September, T4 does not run between Verdaguer and El Maresme, and T5 and T6 do not run between Ciutadella | Vila Olímpica and Sant Martí de Provençals; replacement buses follow the same routes. T4 is restored in full on 14 September, but cuts east of Glòries remain on T5 and T6 until the works finish in spring 2027.

A single bought on the metro will not work on the tram
A single ticket bought at a metro or TMB bus machine will not work on the tram. Single tickets are only valid with the operator that sold them, so either buy your single at a TRAM machine or use an integrated ticket such as the T-casual.
