Stops for the express buses, the local buses, the limousine and taxis line up by direction in front of Gates 1 to 5, straight out of the terminal. The buses take no cash, so have a transport card before you ride.

How to ride

    Get a transport card before you ride
    Jeju's buses take no cash at all. Buy a nationwide transport card at a convenience store first.

    Head out to the stop for your direction
    Gate 1 for Seongsan, Gate 2 for the city hall, Gate 4 for Pyeonghwa-ro, Gate 5 for Yeon-dong. Check the route number on the sign.

    Tap your card as you board
    Express buses take the base fare as you board. With QR, scan the sticker inside the bus and key in the amount.

    Tap again as you get off
    An express takes its distance charge at the tap out. Tap out on a local bus too if changing: the 40-minute window starts there.

    Board the limousine in front of Gate 5
    Route 600 runs to Jungmun and Seogwipo; the 601 uses the same stop but ends at Jungmun, and the 800 series leaves from Gate 4.

    Take a taxi from the rank
    Check that the meter is running. Night-time and long trips carry surcharges.

The routes to the far side of the island are express; past 20 km a distance charge is added at the tap out.

Heads-up

  • The same direction can mean two different gates

    The airport groups its stops by direction, but two buses heading the same way can leave from different gates. On the Daejeong, Hwasun and western ring route, the 102 leaves from in front of Gate 2 while the 151 and 251-1 leave from Gate 4. The circled section numbers on the airport's own page also disagree with its legend, so ignore them and match the route number printed on the stop sign before you queue.

  • Transfers off an express or limousine are never free

    Even inside the 40 minutes that follow your tap out, changing between express buses and airport limousines only takes 1,150 won off the adult fare; you pay the rest. The province's own worked example is 2,000 won for the first express plus 850 for the second, 2,850 in all. On top of that, the distance charge an express takes when you tap out is collected regardless of any transfer discount. Budget for both if you ride an express out of the airport and change to another express or a limousine.

  • Taxi surcharges stack by addition

    Jeju adds taxi surcharges together rather than multiplying them. The 20% night rate between 23:00 and 04:00 and the 20% long-distance rate for trips over 20 km come to 40% when both apply, which is what happens if you land late and ride far. The long-distance rate applies to small and medium taxis only, not to large ones. Order by phone or app and a 1,000 won call-out fee goes on top of all of it, but only on a taxi fitted with a call device and registered for the fee; take one from the airport rank and it does not apply.
