Veturilo

Veturilo, the public bike scheme, runs March to November and the first 20 minutes are free. Returns are the catch - close the O-lock anywhere but a station or a marked city rack and a 150 zl charge follows.

How to ride

    Install the app and fund your account
    Register in the Veturilo app, then add a payment card or make the initial top-up, and open the link in the verification email.

    Find a station on the map
    Use the map in the app to find a station or a marked rack; filters let you pick a standard, electric or tandem bike.
  3. 3
    Scan the QR code to unlock
    Scan the QR code on the bike or type its number and the O-lock on the rear wheel opens itself. Check the brakes and tyres first.

    Stepping away mid-ride - use Postoj
    To leave the bike while you shop, pick Postoj in the app and drop the O-lock - the clock keeps running.
  5. 5
    Return it by closing the O-lock at a station
    Return at a station or a marked rack. Push the rear O-lock shut by hand and the app ends the ride.

    E-scooters use the operators' own apps
    E-scooters are rented in the Bolt, Dott and Lime apps. Ride on the cycle track, or on the roadway where there is none.

Heads-up

  • Returning outside a station or city rack adds a charge

    A Veturilo bike can only be returned at a Veturilo station or one of the city's marked racks. Close the O-lock anywhere else and a 150 zl charge is added automatically - though it is cancelled if you re-rent the same bike within 15 minutes and return it in a permitted spot.

  • Rented e-scooters are banned outright in the Old Town

    Rented e-scooters are banned outright - riding and parking alike - in the Old Town, Lazienki Royal Park, the Krasinski Garden, Sowinski Park and Lasek na Kole. They are capped at 12 km/h on the pedestrianised stretches of Krakowskie Przedmiescie, Nowy Swiat and Chmielna, on the stretches of the Vistula boulevards that have no separate cycle track, and on Zlota, Zgoda, Bracka, Plac Centralny and the pedestrian-cycle bridge.

  • Under-16s must wear a helmet anywhere in Poland

    Since 3 June 2026 anyone under 16 must wear a helmet on a bicycle, an e-bike, an e-scooter or a personal transporter anywhere in Poland, and a breach carries a 100 zl fine.
