Copenhagen

One zone-based ticket covers the metro, trains, buses and harbour boats. With no gates and no contactless, buy it in an app or at a machine before you set off.

Taxis (taxa) and ride-hailing apps

Ordering by app brings a licensed taxi: every ride must be sold through a licensed dispatch office (kørselskontor). Fares sit under a national ceiling; hails and ranks use the posted tariff, bookings vary at some firms.

How to ride

  1. 1
Get one by app or at a rank
Uber, Bolt, TAXA 4x35 and Dantaxi all send a licensed taxi - you can also take one at a rank or flag one down.
  2. 2
Head outside Terminal 3 at the airport
The pick-up point at Copenhagen Airport is directly outside Terminal 3, with a separate rank reserved for taxis to Sweden.
  3. 3
Check the price before you book
Hails and rank pickups use the firm's posted tariff; at some firms a phone or app booking is variably priced, so check it first.
  4. 4
    Check the meter is running
By law the meter must always be switched on; on a fixed-price ride it must keep showing the agreed price.
  5. 5
Pay at the terminal in the car
Cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay and cash all work; a surcharge is allowed on personal cards issued outside the EU/EEA.
  6. 6
Take the receipt when you get out
The receipt shows the car's registration, the driver card number, the times and the kilometres - you need these to complain.

Heads-up

  • A fixed price does not cover stops on the way

If you lock a fixed price in the app, it does not cover stops to pick anyone up or drop them off, or extra waiting time, and the route is the Google Maps optimum chosen by the driver - so if you need to stop on the way, ride on the meter instead.
