Buy before you board - at a stop machine or a kiosk - and stamp a paper ticket the moment you're on. The machines on board take no cash, and their ticket binds to the card you paid with - show that card at inspection.

    The Sunday heritage trams take an ordinary ticket

    Every Sunday until 20 September the heritage cars run as line 0, the Krakow Museum Line, roughly 11:00 to 18:00 at about 80-minute intervals. It is not a separately priced tourist ride - the ordinary KMK fare applies, and so do the ordinary stamping rules.

How to ride

    Buy your ticket before you board
    Buy at a machine at the stop, at a kiosk, or in one of the approved apps - the machines at stops still take cash.

    Buying on board means tapping a card
    The machines on board take no cash - check the pictogram above the door for what that vehicle accepts.

    Stamp a paper ticket the moment you board
    Punch it in the validator as the very first thing you do after boarding - not once you have found a seat.
  4. 4
    In an app, enter the vehicle number
    Enter the number posted inside the tram - two letters, three digits - or scan its QR code; it is validated as you buy.
  5. 5
    Keep the ticket or card with you until you are off
    Inspectors work around the clock and in plain clothes; if you bought on board, show the card you paid with.

Heads-up

  • A broken machine on board is not an excuse

    ZTP treats the machines on board as a supplementary sales channel and states plainly that a broken one does not entitle you to a free ride - if you boarded without a ticket, inspectors are required to charge the penalty anyway. Buy before you board.

  • Speakerphone and music cost 200 zl

    Since 12 January 2026 hands-free calls, playing sound through a speaker and playing musical instruments are explicitly banned on board. The penalty is 200 zl, and it can only be issued when an inspector observes the breach in person during a check. Use headphones.

  • Do not count on bringing your own e-scooter

    Krakow's on-board rules say nothing about e-scooters, so one counts as hand luggage. When the tram is busy the driver may refuse to carry an item whose size or weight gets in other passengers' way - prams and wheelchairs excepted. Do not plan a journey on the assumption that it will be allowed.
