KRL Commuter Line

The KRL commuter network runs on e-money cards - tap in, tap out. A trip to Bogor costs about Rp5,000, remarkably cheap. Rush hour can get overwhelming, so ride in the middle of the day.

How to ride

    Tap in with e-money
    The card you use on TransJakarta or the MRT works here. Top up first - low balance blocks the exit gate.

    Check the markings and pick your car
    The end cars are women-only - check the markings before boarding.
  3. 3
    Dodge the rush
    The 7-9am and 5-7pm crush is world-famous. Ride midday as a visitor.
