MRT & LRT

Jakarta's answer to its legendary traffic - clean, fast, and astonishingly cheap. But cash won't work: you need an e-money card (Flazz etc.) or a QR app. Assume your bank card won't tap in.

How to ride

    Get an e-money card
    Buy a Flazz or e-Money card at convenience stores (Indomaret, Alfamart) or stations and top it up.

    Tap in
    Tap the reader - insufficient balance blocks entry, so top up first.
  3. 3
    Line up at the markings and board
    Line up at the platform door markings. Some hours have women-only cars.
  4. 4
    Tap out with the same card
    Exit with the same card - the distance fare settles automatically.
