How to ride
- 1Buy a ticket, or have your card readyWith a supported card you need no ticket; otherwise buy at a tram stop machine, or - with cash - at a metro station or kiosk.
- 2Tap once on the blue reader insideThere are no gates. Once aboard, tap once on the blue validator by the doors - no tap needed when you get off.
- 3Show inspectors the same cardShow inspectors the same card or device you tapped with - they check it on a handheld reader.
- 4Transfer on the same ticketThe first tap gives you 90 minutes to switch to metro, bus or trolleybus. On the metro you tap both entering and exiting.

3-Day Tourist Ticket20 euro for 3 days on every mode plus the X80, with one airport trip each way.
Daily fare capContactless fares are capped at 4.10 euro a day, whatever the number of trips.

Facilities
Lifts (step-free)（Limited）There are seats for disabled passengers on board, but OASA itself warns that the ramps at tram stops are hard to reach because the pavements have not been adapted.
Suitcases & luggageBaggage up to 100x60x25cm and 25kg; longer items up to 1.70m.
Rules
Eating & drinking on board（Banned）Eating and drinking on board are banned under the OASA passenger regulation.
Smoking（Banned）No smoking on board.
Pets（Limited）Only guide dogs and pets inside a carrier no larger than 70x40x50cm.
Fare evasion fine（Banned）A fine of 100 euro, or 50 euro for those entitled to a reduced fare.
Apps & info
Journey planner app (Google Maps)Enough for routing - useful for comparing the tram against the metro, since the tram is the slower option
Operating hours（Limited）Since 13 September 2025 both T6 and T7 run 24 hours every Saturday (as do metro lines 2 and 3), every 15 min from 22:00-00:30, every 25 min from 00:30-05:30 and every 12 min from 05:30-10:00. First and last trams on other days are not published by OASA or STASY and remain unconfirmed.

Tapping through a stack of cards charges you twice
Tap your payment card on its own, out of your wallet - stacked with another card or an Ath.ena ticket it can charge you twice. Use the same card or device for every leg of the journey.

A red screen means the payment failed, so do not board
A red screen on the validator means the payment failed and you must not travel. A card with insufficient funds goes onto a deny list and keeps being rejected until you top it up.
