One iPASS or EasyCard carries you through the MRT, light rail, buses, the ferry and TRA trains alike. Contactless credit cards open only the MRT gates - not the light rail, buses or ferry - where JCB and Amex work too, while UnionPay is credit only. The ferry takes one tap at the pier; the rest want a tap on and off - miss the tap-off on the light rail or a bus and the card locks until an unlock fee clears. There is no fare cap, so pick a MeN Go time pass (24/48/72 hours). One exception: three classes of TRA express bar IC cards outright.
