Dublin

Ireland's capital of literature and pubs. The Luas tram and the coastal DART do the everyday work.

Trains, trams and buses take no bank-card tap - the axis is the Leap card, best bought in arrivals. The ritual flips by mode: buses take one tap at boarding, no tap off; Luas and DART take a tap on and off - miss it and the higher default fare locks in. In Zone 1, Leap's TFI 90-minute fare gives free transfers across bus, Luas and DART; the Leap Visitor Card is unlimited. No train serves the airport - the choice is coin-only TFI buses or coaches, with Dublin Express refusing cash. FreeNow, Uber and Bolt all send the same licensed taxis.
